Somehow through all the chaos, dust and squalor the women manage to remain pristine and so gorgeously colourful, wherever they are and whatever they are doing. Seeing them in their beautiful saris gliding across the rural landscape is a delight. The whole place is a hive of industry, every person is trying to make ends meet in any way they can and every day is a journey for them into a chaotic and fast disappearing world. Everywhere there is hope, hope of a better day, hope of a sale and a meagre amount of cash with which to purchase an infintesimally small share of what they really need, what any decent society would want for them at the very least. Yet through all this they remain calm, eternally hopeful, polite and friendly.
